STANFORD, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i sailing competed in a trio of of events during the PCCSC Fall Championships, hosted by Stanford, Oct 24-26. UH competed in the men's and women's singlehanded championships while the Rainbow Wahine placed fifth in the 2014 Fall Women's PCC's.
The Rainbow Wahine competed against eight other schools in a total of 14 races over the weekend. The sailors for the A Division were
Cecilia Jansson, Jazylyne Rojas and
Louise Currie, who accumulated 73 points putting them in fifth place.
Caitlin Schadt and Madeline Anzivino sailed for the B Division finishing with 57 points putting them in fourth place. The A and B Divisions totaled up for a score of 130 putting them in a fifth place overall finish.
A day before the Fall Women's PCC's began, sailors Schadt and Jansson competed in the 2014 PCCSC Women's Singlehanded Championships, finishing fifth and sixth. The men then took to the water Saturday and Sunday with
Jeremy Hitchcock finishing sixth and
Giacomo Paoletti finishing eighth in 15 total races sailed.
The University of Hawai'i sailing will compete next at the ICSA Singlehanded Nationals on Nov. 7-9 in Seattle, Washington.
