Kira Webster won a pair of freestyle events but it wasn't enough as the University of Hawai'i women's swimming and diving team dropped its season-opening dual meet at San Diego State on Friday at the Aztec Aquaplex. The meet score was 157-132.

Webster's impressive first showing for the 'Bows saw her take top honors in both the 500 (4:57.71) and 1000 (10:15.19) freestyle events.

The Rainbow Wahine won six of the 16 events which consisted of 12 individual races, two relays, and the 1- and 3-meter diving competitions.

Hawai'i swept the 100 butterfly with
Erin McNulty (56.77),
Sofija Djelic (58.30), and
Morgan Mark (58.63) placing in the top three spots.

In the 200 IM, the 'Bows dominated with
Sophie Allin (2:11.60),
Katie Seaton (2:15.42), and
Kristen Bennett (2:17.78) taking the top three spots.

For the relays, UH took the top two places in the 200 freestyle.

The Rainbow Wahine will have nearly one month off before they return to the pool. The divers will compete in the UT Diving Invitational in Austin, Tex., while the swimming team participates in the Arena Invitational in Monterey Park, Calif. Both events are scheduled to take place from November 20th to the 22nd.
