Final ResultsSUNNYVALE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team took fifth place at the Bronco Invitational, Saturday at Baylands Regional Park.
Chico State captured the team title with 75 points, followed by San Diego (83), UC Santa Cruz (93), and Cal St. East Bay (117).
The Rainbow Wahine scored a total of 159 points in the 17-team women's 6K race. The 'Bows were led by freshman
Montana Martinez, who placed 19
th and finished in 23:20.4. She and four other Rainbow Wahine placed new seasonal-bests 6K times.
Also breaking their previous marks were freshman
Alexa Foster (23:44.9, 38
th), sophomore
Caitlyn Foss (23:56.6, 46
th), and seniors Tiare Nakashima (24:52.4, 83
rd) and
Hayley Musashi (25:20.2, 99
th). Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine was senior
Louise Mulvey, finishing in 76
th at 24:39.0.
The Rainbow Wahine have one more meet before Big West Championships. They will compete next weekend, Oct. 25 in the HPU Invitational in Kahuku, O'ahu, hosted by HPU.
