Morrison Leads Track & Field At Washington Invite

SEATTLE – University of Hawai'i multi-event athlete Kaleigh Morrison placed sixth the pentathlon and in the process set four personal bests at the University of Washington Invitational Friday at Dempsey Indoor.
 
Morrison totaled a personal best 3,487 points in the five disciplines while posting PRs in the 60-meter hurdles (9.09), long jump (18-3.25/5.57m) and 800-meters (2:38.65). Her previous PR total was 3,303 points at last year's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships.
 
Sophomore Kayla Kirk placed 17th in her first-ever pentathlon, breaking into the school's Top 10 list with a score of 3,013 points. Kirk won her heat in the 60-meter hurdles with a PR time of 9.91 seconds.
 
Junior Robyn Morioka won the pole vault competition while senior Cecilia Durocher took second with marks of 12-6 (3.81m) and 12-0 (3.66m), respectively. Among the five Rainbow Wahine who competed in the 200-meter dash, freshman Rachel Toliver was UH's top finisher at 15th overall with a time of 25.87 seconds.
 
The meet continues on Saturday with another full-day of events.
