WAIPIO, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team opened the 2013 season with the Chaminade Invitational, where they finished fourth, Saturday at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
The Rainbow Wahine placed two runners in the Top 20, including senior
Kevyn Murphy, who placed 11
th in the 5K race with a time of 20:03. Junior
Louise Mulvey was 19
th at 20:50.
Alaska-Anchorage captured the team title with a perfect score of 15 points. They took the top six spots individually while all eight runners placed within the top 12. BYU-Hawai'i was second (58) followed by Hawai'i Pacific (80), UH (102), UH-Hilo (149), and host Chaminade (177).
UAA's Susan Tanui won the race with a time of 18:13 ahead of teammate Joyce Kipchumba (18:57).
