Day 1 Results
KUNA, Idaho – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in seventh place following the first day of the Bronco Fall Classic Monday at the Falcon Crest Golf Course.
After two rounds, the Rainbow Wahine is 38-over par with rounds of 310 and 304 for a 614 total. Freshman
Izzy Leung is in a three-way tie for 10
th place at 3-over 147. The Shatin, Hong Kong native fired rounds of 3-over 75 in Round 1 and even par 72 in Round 2, the latter of which featured a 15-hole stretch in which she posted two birdies and 13 pars.
Fellow freshman
Raquel Ek is tied for 20
th at 9-over 153 (76-77). Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are freshman
Kelli-Anne Katsuda (79-77=156/T30), sophomore
Nichole Cruz (80-78=158/T35), and freshman
Daezsa Tomas (80-79=159/T37).
Santa Clara leads the team standings at 2-over 178 followed by host Boise State (587), and Portland State (595). Individually, Santa Clara's Kaci McCartan holds a one shot lead over BSU's Sammie Pless. McCartan posted two rounds under par, including a second round 69 and is 4-under 140 for the tournament.
The tourney concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round.
