Rainbows Host No. 4 Cal State Fullerton In Big West Tilt

Series Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team continues its Big West Conference home stand with a three-game series this week against No. 4 Cal State Fullerton. The two teams will play Friday, Apr. 26 (6:35 p.m.), Saturday, Apr. 27 (6:35 p.m.), and Sunday, Apr. 28 (1:05 p.m.).

Fullerton, also ranked No. 3 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 30 Poll, is 24-6 overall and first in the Big West standings at 10-2. UH is 8-27 overall record and 3-9 in conference.

After capping their seven-game road trip with a win at Cal Poly, the Rainbows returned home and were swept last week in three games by Cal State Northridge. It was their fourth sweep of the season and second in conference play. UH comes into the series winners of just one of its last nine Big West games.

The series marks the third time in four years the two teams will meet. UH lost two of three at Fullerton in 2010 and was ousted in four tight low-scoring contests in 2011. The Titans lead the all-time series 8-4.

Conner George leads the 'Bows at the plate, batting .298 with 11 runs, 14 RBI, four doubles, and a team-high two triples. UH struggled against the Matadors last week, but Kalei Hanawahine brought his game to new heights. In just two games, he batted .714 (5-7) and also led the team in runs (3), RBI (3), and doubles (2).

The 'Bows and Titans kick off the three-game tilt on Friday, Apr. 26 at 6:35 p.m.
