HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team kicks off the 2013 season hosting four games against the No. 6 Oregon Ducks in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Opening Series. The Rainbows and Ducks will play Friday, Feb. 15 (6:35 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 16 (6:35 p.m.), Sunday, Feb. 17 (1:05 p.m.), and Monday, Feb. 18 (1:05 p.m.).
 
Hawai'i and Oregon open both their seasons at Les Murakami Stadium for the third straight year. UH won both the openers but the Ducks have won five of the last six games.
 
Head coach Mike Trapasso enters his 12th season at the helm of the Rainbows. He carries an overall 344-294 record at Hawai'i with four straight seasons of 30 or more wins. The 'Bows will be led by all-conference shortstop Pi'ikea Kitamura, second baseman Stephen Ventimilia, and pitcher Scott Squier. UH also begins the season as first-time members of the Big West Conference after a 33-year run in the WAC.
 
The Ducks come in after a successful run in the 2012 NCAA Tournament where they were one win away from a trip to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. They were ranked as high as No. 5 and closed the season ranked No. 11 in the final Baseball America national poll. Oregon enters the season ranked in the Top 10 of the Collegiate Baseball, NBCWA, and ESPN/USA Today  preseason polls, and No. 15 in Baseball America.

Where: Honolulu, O'ahu (Les Murakami Stadium). 
Television: OCSports – Channels 12 (SD) and 1012 (HD) will broadcast the Friday, Sunday, and Monday games. Jim Leahey will be calling the play-by-play with Pal Eldredge doing color commentary.

Ticket Information: Tickets can be purchased at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, online at HawaiiAthletics.com, or by phone at (808) 944-2697. There will be a $1 processing fee for all online transactions. UH Athletics is offering a "Fast Lane" option for fans purchasing baseball tickets at Les Murakami Stadium on game day. Window 7 is designated as the "Fast Lane" window, where cash-only, best-available, upper-level seats are sold. Fans are not able to "shop for seats" and they are sold the best upper-level seat locations remaining at the time of their purchase.
Promotions: Outrigger Hotels and Resorts is the series sponsor and will distribute water bottles to the first 100 fans at Friday's and Sunday's games and 100 key chains at Saturday's and Monday's contests.
