HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team was in action Saturday at two separate meets. The majority of the team competed at the Sunrise Opener at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field while the pole vaulters were in action at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nev.
 
Among the highlights for the Rainbow Wahine at the Sunrise Meet were senior Shallyn Jackson, who won the 300-meters with a time of 42.57 and sophomore Louise Mulvey, who captured the the 1000-meters event at 3:05.22. Both times were personals bests and moved each to eighth all time in school history. 
 
Senior Kevyn Murphy won the 2-mile (11:40.59), which ranks fifth all time while sophomore Alex Porlier Langlois improved her mark in the shot put from the intra-squad and won the competition with a mark of 43-5 (13.23m).
 
UH's pole vaulters – Cecilia Durocher, Camie Kohashi, and Robyn Morioka – were in action in Pit 2 at the Pole Vault Summit. Morioka took first after clearing 12-3.5 (3.75m) and won based the fewest misses. Durocher also cleared the same height but placed third while Kohashi leaped 11-11.75 (3.65m).
 
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the UW Invitational, Jan. 25-26, in Seattle, Wash.
