HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team will play its finale home match on Friday, Mar. 30, taking on UC Davis at 11:30 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex. The match will be the final home contest for senior
Charlie Rice.
The Rainbow Warriors (3-9, 2-1 WAC) will host a match for the first time in nearly a month. UH played six road matches this month spanned over two road trips, the latest to Fresno, Calif. that included a pair of Western Athletic Conference contests. The 'Bows went 1-2 on their Fresno trip, falling to No. 18 Fresno State and No. 27 Tulsa and beating New Mexico State.
After a rough early stretch,
Jonathan Brooklyn has found his stride at the No. 1 flight in both singles and doubles. He went undefeated in all five matches, posting three singles wins and a pair of doubles victories with partner Dymtro Kovalyov. He took down two nationally ranked opponents in singles, rallying from a set down in both matches. He and Kovalyov were equally challenged and equally successful in doubles, turning back another ranked opponent.
The Aggies also come in at 3-9 overall but riding a five-match losing streak. UC Davis has not played since March 4
th.
Following the match, the 'Bows will have just over a week off before traveling to Las Vegas and Logan, Utah for four total matches to close the regular season.
