Rainbow Sailors Place 18th At Truxtun Umsted Intersectional

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team finished in 18th place at the Truxtun Umsted Intersectional Regatta, held March 17-19.  Yale captured the event with 127 points. 
 
A total of 20 teams competed in the FJ, 420, and laser divisions.  Conditions of 3-5 knots allowed for six races for the two-day event.  Yale swept the A and C division earning a first place finish.  Following for second with 155 points was Tufts University.
Rainbow sailors Adam Pokras and Cienna Patmont led the team in A division finishing 17th with 83 points.  Sailing in the B division was Michael Hanson and Bree Nidds who finished 14th with 86 points.  Racing in the C division was Fizz Foster finishing 16th with 79 points.  Craig Schifferns sailed in the D division placing 18th with 102 points.
 
 Up next, the coed team will compete back on the West Coast at the St. Francis Collegiate Intersectional, March 31-April 1, in San Francisco, Calif.
