LAS VEGAS, Nev.—The University of Hawai`i concluded the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic with a decisive 12-2 victory in five innings over host school, UNLV (4-5). Hawai`i went undefeated in the tournament and raised its record to 12-0 at Eller Media Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Rainbow Wahine scored early and often en route to the mercy rule end to the game.  Kelly Majam led the game off with a single to rightfield and Kayla Wartner was beaned to put two runners on base for Sarah Robinson, who launched her first homer of the season to right-centerfield to give UH an early 3-0 lead.

The 'Bows added two more runs in the second inning. Makani Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu sparked the one-out rally with a single to the right-centerfield gap. Dara Pagaduan then drilled a double to right to push Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu to third. Majam then drove in Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu in from third with an opposite-field, RBI single to left and Robinson followed by driving in Pagaduan from third with a single to left to increase UH's lead to 5-0.

Hawai`i was blanked offensively in the third, but in the fourth UH batted around the order and erupted for nine runs. Majam led the inning off with her third home run of the season. It marked her 42nd homer of her career—two shy of tying former UH All-American Kate Robinson's school home run record of 44 set in 2008. Wartner kept things going with a single to right and was followed by Robinson who drilled her second home run of the game and the season to right-centerfield. It was the first time in her four year career that Robinson hit two homers in one game. Iwata and Alexandra Aguirre both had singles to left and later Leisha Li`ili`i drew a walk to load the bases for Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu who followed yesterday's mammoth home run today with a grand slam. It was her first grand slam of the season and second of her career.

Kaia Parnaby (5-0) earned the complete game win, tossing 5.0 innings. She spaced five hits and gave up two runs with a walk and two strike outs.

UNLV's starter, C Klepper suffered the loss, giving up five runs on five hits with one strike out. A Petersen followed throwing 2.0 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits with one walk, and A Oliveto closed the game, throwing the final 1.2 innings. She gave up one run with a walk and three strike outs.

Hawai`i returns home and will next host the Bank of Hawaii Invitational (March 2-4) featuring Florida State, UC Santa Barbara and Radford.
