Men’s Basketball Gears Up For Monday “Blackout” Night

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior basketball team takes aim at the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Rainbow Classic title when its faces Houston Baptist in a nationally televised contest on Monday, Nov. 12 at 11:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
 
The late-night tip will be part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-off Marathon, the fifth straight year UH has participated in the event. It will be a UH “Blackout” as all fans are encouraged to wear black for the 11:00 p.m. tipoff.      
 
With is second straight win to start the season—a 81-54 thrashing of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday—UH set itself up for a shot at its 13th Classic title. Houston Baptist stands in UH's way after also improving to 2-0 with a 70-55 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday.  
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Maryland Eastern Shore will meet at 4:00 p.m. in the tournament's third place game. The UH box office will open at 2:00 p.m. and closed at halftime of the 4:00 p.m. game. The box office will re-open at 9:00 pm for UH's matchup against Houston Baptist.

Ticket Information: All seats general admission. $10 (Adult), $5 (Senior Citizen), $5 (youth, 4-18); UH Manoa students free with validated ID. Parking $6.
Promotions: Outrigger Hotels and Resorts will distribute 1,000 reusable tote bags and award up to $2,000 in the “Shoot for Loot” halftime promotion at each UH game. It's a “Blackout” on Monday and fans are encouraged to wear black shirts during its nationally televised game vs.  Houston Baptist. All seats are general admission that night.
