Swimming & Diving Returns To Action At Arizona

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming & diving teams return to action this week with a dual-meet against the University of Arizona. The meet will run from Oct. 19-20 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Ariz.
 
Following a men's and women's sweep over BYU (Oct. 5-6), senior Luca Mazzurana and sophomore Jasmine Alkhaldi both earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Athlete of the Week honors. This marked the first time a male and female swimmer won in a single week under the same conference.
 
Mazzurana swept the butterfly events for the Warriors, while Alkhaldi posted first place finishes in the 200 and 100 freestyle. She also swam in four winning relay events to lead the Wahine a landslide victory over the weekend.
 
Senior Taylor Ritenberg also led the women winning three individual events in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 IM.
 
Events on Friday, Oct. 19 will kick-off at 2:00 p.m. MST, while events on Saturday, Oct. 20 will begin at 10:00 a.m. MST.
