HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i women's water polo team hosts two exhibition matches this week. The Rainbow Wahine will hold its final match against the UZSC Dutch team and a match against the alumni team. All games will be played at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine are one for two against UZSC. On Jan. 18, they dropped the first match to the Dutch, 6-5 but came back with a 11-9 victory on Jan. 20, where they were led by
Amarens Genee and
Emily Scott.
UH plays their final match against UZSC on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 5:00 p.m. and the alumni exhbition will be on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4:00 p.m.
The alumni team will feature former UH players such as Eko Lapp (1998-2001) and
Leonie Van Der Molen (2008-10). It will also feature the Shari Smart, the program's first coach.
Following Saturday's match will be a reception as part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the women's athletics program and a first-year introduction for Maureen Flanagan as head coach for the Rainbow Wahine.
