MOSCOW, Idaho -- The No. 56 University of Hawai`i mens tennis team defeated Utah State on Saturday afternoon at the Vandals Tennis Courts. The Warriors jumped to 5-9 on the season with the victory.
UH started off the day by winning on two of the three courts to secure the doubles point.
Jonathan Brooklyn and
Dennis Lajola continued on a three match win streak by defeating Alex Thatcher and Fredrik Peterson on the No. 2 court. The win boosted their dual match record to 7-3 on the season.
Danilo Casanova and
Daniel Llarenas nabbed their third victory in a row as well after defeating Nikita Ryashchenko and Jakob Asplund, 8-5.
The Warriors came out victorious on four of the six singles courts with courts No. 5 and 6 ending with no result. Brooklyn, who has been playing excellent in doubles, has also been outstanding in singles action picking up his fourth victory in a row after defeating Fredrik Peterson, 6-2, 6-4, at the No. 3 court.
Jeremy Tweedt notched another win under his belt improving his dual match record to 7-5 on the season.
Next up, the Warriors take on No. 54 Idaho on Sunday, April 10 at the Vandals Tennis Courts. First serve will be at 11:00 am PT, 8:00 am HT.
