Rainbows Continue Homestand Against No.28 Wichita State

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i baseball team continues its homestand this weekend versus No. 28 Wichita State University. The Rainbows and Shockers will play a four-game series at Les Murakami Stadium from March 30-April 2. The teams will play Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6:35 p.m. and Saturday at 12:05 p.m.

The 'Bows are currently 11-13 after being swept last weekend at the hands of No. 13 Cal State Fullerton. They will look to return to their winning ways of two weeks ago when they swept a four-game set against Centenary College.

Kolten Wong sat out this past Saturday's doubleheader due to a shoulder injury, ending a run of 142 consecutive games which began at the beginning of his freshman year. He returned to the lineup on Sunday in a designated hitter role. Despite sitting out the doubleheader, Wong continues to be a major factor in the UH lineup. He leads the team in batting average (.374) hits (34), RBI (15), total bases (47), slugging percentage (.516), and on-base percentage (.426).

Wichita State enters the series after splitting four games at No. 24 Oregon.

Ticket Information: Individual game tickets are $8 in the lower and mid levels. Adult tickets in the upper level are $6, with senior citizens for $5 and student tickets in the upper level for $3. In addition to purchasing tickets online at HawaiiAthletics.com, fans can visit the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., or call 944-2697 during the same hours. In order to ease game-day ticket lines at baseball and make online ticket purchases more affordable, UH has reduced the fee for individual-game, online ticket purchases to $1 per ticket through HawaiiAthletics.com. Previously, the per-ticket charge was $2. The fee for "Print at Home" tickets is $1 per order and the "Will Call" charge is $2 per order.
Promotions: The UH baseball team hosts a four-game
series against No. 28-ranked Wichita State March 30-April 2 in Les Murakami Stadium. Games begin at 6:35 p.m., except for the series finale on Saturday, which starts at 12:05 p.m. Hawaiian Airlines is the game sponsor on Wednesday and Thursday and Farmers Insurance Hawaii is the game sponsor on Friday and Saturday. In celebrating the arrival of Hawaiian Airlines' fourth Airbus A330, the first 330 fans will receive a Hawaiian Airlines tote bag with a $50 off roundtrip discount to Las Vegas. Fans will also have a chance to win a neighbor island roundtrip for two, each night. Farmers Insurance Hawaii will be distributing 1,000 seat cushions at both the Friday and Saturday games. Large crowds are expected, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.The team will be available for photos and autographs after Friday's game, as they will for all Friday home games. Fans can proceed to the field via the stairs located at the lower level of Section JJ on the first-base side of the field. The players will be available on the field for 30 minutes for “Autograph Friday”. Fans are encouraged to bring items for the players to sign. 
Coaches: Mike Trapasso (291-257) is in his 10th year at UH. Gene Stephenson (1,741-604-3) is in his 34th year at Wichita State.
Series Information: Wichita State leads Hawai'i 15-20. Their last meeting was in 2007.
