Warriors Host Tulane In Non-Conference Tilt

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team looks to snap a three-game losing streak when it hosts a non-conference game against Tulane, Saturday, Nov. 26. Kick-off is 6:05 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors (5-6) dropped their third consecutive loss in a tightly-contested battle with rival Fresno State, 24-21, last Saturday at Aloha Stadium. UH fell behind 17-0 before back-up quarterback David Graves led the Warriors to 21 unanswered points. The Bulldogs went ahead early in the fourth quarter but Hawai'i could not muster any points in its last three possessions.

The Green Wave (2-10) have lost their last nine games, including a 19-7 defeat at Rice, last Saturday. During the losing streak, Tulane has allowed 42 points per game while being held offensively to 17 points or fewer six times. Interim head coach Mark Hutson took over midway through the season after Bob Toledo stepped down. Hutson also served as interim head coach at Eastern Illinois in 2006, when the Warriors defeated the Panthers 44-9 at Aloha Stadium.

UH and Tulane have met three previous times, most recently, during the 2002 ConAgra Foods Hawai'i Bowl in which the Green Wave rallied for a 36-28 victory. The Warriors won the previous two meetings in 1989 (31-26) and 1993 (56-17) also both at Aloha Stadium.
