Sailors Finish Fifth At PCCSC Fall Dinghy Championship

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -The University of Hawai'i sailing team placed fifth overall at the PCCSC Fall Dinghy Championship with a final score of 167. Stanford claimed the championship with 59 points followed by host UC Santa Barbara with 80 points.
 
A total of 21 schools participated in the regatta and 8 races were run in each of three divisions. In the A division, sophomore Adam Pokras and senior Cienna Patmont earned fourth place with a score of 35. In the B division, senior Michael Hanson and junior Bree Nidds finished sixth with a total of 60 points. Senior Craig Schifferns sailed in the C division finishing in eighth place with 72 points. 
 
The 'Bows will kick of the 2012 spring season at home hosting the PJ Wenner Rainbow Invite from Jan. 21-22 in Keehi Lagoon.
