HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (6-8, 0-0 WAC) closes its third homestand of the season with the NCAA's “Pack the House” promotion against defending WAC champions, Louisiana Tech (9-5, 1-0 WAC) on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 5:00 pm in the Stan Sheriff Center. Fans are encouraged to "Pack the House" as we will be competing against other WAC teams to see who brings in the most fans.
Hawai'i lost its WAC opener on Thursday against New Mexico State, 58-74. The 'Bows are now 8-7 in both WAC openers and home openers. Two Hawai'i players scored in double-digits against the Aggies. Senior guard
Keisha Kanekoa led UH with 17 points, four assists, and a steal, while freshman
Kamilah Jackson added 12 points with nine rebounds, an assist and a block.
In the loss, Kanekoa moved past UH alum Tondi Redden for 14th place in career points with 1,040. Redden, a guard who played for the 'Bows from 1987-90, scored 1,023 in her career.
Last year, the Lady Techsters took both games against Hawai'i to increase their series lead, 20-3. Louisiana Tech defeated the 'Bows 75-62 in Ruston, La. (Jan. 21, 2010), then came to Honolulu where UH came up short, 71-79 (Feb. 20, 2010)

Ticket Prices: General Admission-Adult: $7; General Admission-Senior Citizen: $5; Students (ages 4-high school): $3; UH Manoa Students receive admission to regular season home games by presenting a valid UH I.D.
*Doubleheader Ticket Policy: Fans with tickets to the women's basketball game who wish to remain for the men's game must purchase a men's basketball ticket. Fans without a men's ticket will be cleared from the arena at the conclusion of the women's basketball game. Fans purchasing a men's basketball ticket will be admitted free to the women's game.
Promotions: Chevron, the game sponsor, will be giving away “Chevron Fan Fans” to the first 1,500 fans. At halftime, fans can enter to participate in a free-throw shooting contest to win gas card prizes.
Coaches: Hawai'i head coach Dana Takahara-Dias is in her second season at UH (16-28). Louisiana Tech's head coach, Teresa Weatherspoon is in her third season and has a 33-11 record.
