HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team wrapped up the 2025-26 season and celebrated the career of head coach
Laura Beeman at the annual Rainbow Wahine Basketball Banquet on Tuesday at the Bank of Hawai'i Main Tower in Downtown Honolulu.
The banquet punctuated a 22-11 season that saw the Rainbow Wahine recover from a 6-9 start to win 16 of their next 17 games and advance to the title game of the Credit Union 1 Big West Women's Basketball Championship.
Senior forward
Imani Perez received two team awards, including the Ah Chew Goo Award, the program's most prestigious honor, as UH's Most Valuable Team Player. Perez also received the team's Defensive Award for the second straight year. She was named to All-Big West second team and Defensive Team for the third straight season and closed her four-year career at UH second in program history in field-goal percentage and sixth in blocked shots. Perez was the focal point of a UH defense that ranked fourth in the nation in blocks per game, fifth in the in field-goal percentage defense and 22
nd in scoring defense.
The team's Academic Award was presented to
Rebecca Moors. The sophomore forward carries a 4.0 grade-point average and earned places on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and Academic All-Big West teams.
Freshman guard
Teyahna Bond earned the Most Improved Player award. Bond finished second on the team with 68 assists and provided a spark off the bench in UH's late-season surge and had 16 assists over the 'Bows' final four games.
Freshman guard
Bailey Flavell picked up the team's Rookie of the Year Award after earning Big West Freshman of the Year and All-Big West Second Team honors. Flavell became the first freshman to lead the team in scoring since the 2010-11 season and broke the program's freshman scoring record with 415 points, surpassing the previous mark of 409 set by Judy Mosley in the 1986-87 season.
Beeman
announced her retirement from coaching on March 30 to close out her 14-year career leading the program. Beeman guided the 'Bows to a 244-180 record in a tenure featuring four Big West regular-season titles and three conference tournament crowns.
