SEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team completed the first day of the University of Washington Invitational Friday at Dempsey Indoor.
Sophomore
Samantha Balentine competed in the pentathlon and placed 10
th after accumulating 3,241 points in the five-discipline event. The Lodi, Calif., native had the third-best high jump mark among the 23 competitors, clearing the bar at 5-7.25 (1.71m).
Teammate
Kaleigh Morrison finished in 15
th place with 2,985 points. Competing in her first collegiate multi-event, the freshman tied for ninth in the high jump with a mark of 5-3.75 (1.62m) and was 12
th in the long jump at 16-7.25 (5.06m).
The UW Invite concludes on Saturday with a full field of events and the rest of the Rainbow Wahine competing.
