HONOLULU—The University of Hawai`i women's basketball team (6-9, 0-2 WAC) hits the road this week for a string of five-straight Western Athletic Conference road games starting with a swing through Idaho. UH opens with the Idaho Vandals (8-6, 1-1 WAC) Thurs., Jan. 13 at 6:00 pm and then face Boise State (9-7, 0-2 WAC) on Sat. Jan. 15 at 6:00 pm.
The Rainbow Wahine look to snap a 12-game WAC road game losing streak dating back to the 2008-09 season. Last season, the 'Bows went 0-8 on the mainland in conference. UH's last WAC road win was a 63-61 game at Utah State on Jan. 30.
Hawai`i is led by freshman forward,
Kamilah Jackson, who is averaging a double-double overall with 14.1 points per game and 12.3 rebounds per game. Nationally, Jackson's 12.3 rebounds per game is third best in NCAA DI action this year. She is also ranked 13th with eight double-doubles and 35th in field goal percentage.
Senior
Keisha Kanekoa is also having a solid season. She is second on the team with 12.7 points per game and leads UH with 51 assists, 23 steals (tied with senior
Megan Tinnin), and free-throw percentage (.797). Tinnin is third on the squad, averaging 9.3 points per game. She also leads UH with 28 3-pointers made and has helped to crash the boards contributing 3.6 rebounds per game.

Coaches: Hawai'i head coach Dana Takahara-Dias is in her second season at UH (16-29). Idaho's head coach, Jon Newlee (who was an assistant for the Rainbow Wahine from 1999-2002) is in his third season and has a 32-41 record.
