No. 13 Men’s Volleyball Drops Second Match Against No. 9 UCLA

WESTWOOD, Calif. – The University of Hawai`i men's volleyball team lost for the second straight night against No. 9 UCLA, 3-1, on Friday night at Pauley Pavilion in Westwood, Calif. The Warriors return to the island for four straight home matches to finish the regular season.
 
The Warriors took the opening set 30-25, but lost a close second set 29-31, before losing the final two 23-30 and 22-30.
 
UH dropped to 6-17 overall and 3-15 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play, while UCLA improved to 12-13 overall and 8-10 in conference action.
 
Josh Walker led the way for the Warriors on Friday night, recording 19 kills with a .432 hitting percentage. In his second match back, freshman Steven Hunt had 14 kills and Joseph Strotman added nine kills.
 
Nejc Zemljak set the offense with 58 assists and Michael China recorded eight digs from the libero position.
 
After playing their final regular season road match of the season on Friday, the Warriors return to the Stan Sheriff Center for four home matches to end the regular season. UH will face Pacific on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
