Game Notes

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team opens Western Athletic Conference play with three road games, beginning Thursday, Jan. 8 against Fresno State. UH will face San Jose State on Saturday, Jan. 10 and wrap up the road trip Monday, Jan. 12 at Boise State.

 

UH concluded non-conference play with a 3-10 overall record after going 0-2 in the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Classic last week. Fresno State began conference play Monday and is 1-0 and 10-4 overall. San Jose State went 1-12 in non-conference play and opens league play Thursday night. Boise State is 1-1 in conference play and 8-8 overall.

 

Last season the Rainbow Wahine finished 6-10 in conference play and earned the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament. This season UH was picked to finish sixth in the media poll and seventh in the coaches poll.

 

UH will face Fresno State and Boise State in two of their first three games. Fresno State and Boise State tied for the conference regular season championship and Fresno State won the WAC Tournament.
