Warriors Seek Seventh Win Against Washington State This Week

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will look to become bowl eligible for the third consecutive year when it hosts Washington State of the Pac-10, Saturday, Nov. 29. Kickoff is 6:05 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors (6-5) need one win in their final two regular season contests to secure a berth in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl for the fifth time in the last seven years. UH is coming off a 49-17 rout of Idaho to close out its Western Athletic Conference season. The Warriors will finish no lower than third in the final league standings.

Hawai'i scored a season-high 49 points against the Vandals. Quarterback Greg Alexander accounted for four touchdowns, including a career-high three through the air. The Warriors have eclipsed the 40-point mark in each of their past two games and are averaging 32.8 points in five home games.

The Cougars (2-10) snapped a seven-game losing streak following a 16-13 overtime victory over in-state rival Washington last Saturday. WSU and UH have met three previous times with the Cougars holding a 2-1 advantage.

Warrior Storylines
-UH and Washington State last met in the 1999 regular season finale at Aloha Stadium with the Cougars winning 22-14.
-UH is 13-34 all-time versus Pac-10 teams, including a 1-2 mark against Washington State.
-UH has won its last two home games against Pac-10 opponents (2006 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl vs. Arizona State, 2007 vs. Washington). UH's last home loss to a Pac-10 opponent was against Oregon State in the 2006 regular season finale.
-UH has seven wins against BCS conference opponents since 1998.
-UH is 6-0 when scoring 20 points or more and 5-0 when scoring 30 points or more this season.
