NEWPORT HARBOR, Calif. – The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team placed third at the PCCSC Sloop Championships hosted by UC Irvine on Sunday, Nov. 2. USC won the event and with it captured the automatic berth to the ISCA National Sloop Championships later this month.
Three sailors competed for the Rainbows, who captured the championship last year.
Samuel Kahn skippered the 'Bows while
Andrew Meade and
Ryan Wild served as crew. A total of five races were completed in the regatta. The Rainbows took first in the second race of the day, but failed to finish higher than third in the other four races.
The Rainbows will close their fall season with PCCSC Fall Championships, Nov. 15-16, in Santa Barbara, Calif.
