Novelle Murray's record performance in the weight toss.
The Surrey, British Columbia native, broke the Cooke Field record, which she previously held, with a throw of 60-4.5 in her final attempt to win the event. The previous record was 58-7.25, which she set last year.
Murray is the defending WAC champion in the weight toss. Earlier this season, she broke the school record with an NCAA provisional mark of 64-1.75.
A number of UH athletes competed in the Albritton Invitational, which is named after the late UH athlete who set the world shot put record in an all-comers meet at UH in 1976.
The Rainbow Wahine will leave later this week for Boise, Idaho, site of the WAC Indoor Championship. Boise State will host the event at at Jackson's Track at the Idaho Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
