Amund Gismervik was named the men's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Diver of the Year for 2015 at the close of another spectacular season. It is Gismervik's second-straight year receiving the conference honor.
The junior from Stavanger, Norway swept all three diving events at the 2015 MPSF Championships (Feb. 18-21) in Pasadena, Calif. Gismervik recorded NCAA Automatic qualifying results with final scores of 367.25 on one-meter, 377.10 on three-meter, and 412.50 on platform and single-handedly netted 60 points towards the 'Bows' third-place finish.
Last week, Gismervik was the only Rainbow Warrior competing at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. He finished 12
th of 43 of the country's best divers with a score of 367.90, giving UH five points at the meet.
Gismervik holds UH's program records in both the platform and one-meter. He broke Magnus Frick's previous record of 413.60 after a breakthrough performance at the Arena Invitational earlier this season (Nov. 21) with a score of 440.30 and set the record for the platform at the 2014 MPSF Championships with a score of 446.10.
