Biography

2009 (Senior): One of just two players to start all 35 matches along with Dani Mafua…finished the season with 272 kills (2.45 p/set) and was second on the team with 84 total blocks (75 block assists and nine block solos)...also was second on the team with 44 service aces…hit a perfect 1.000, notching eight kills on eight attempts against Louisiana Tech (Oct. 19)....buried a season-high 15 kills against Nevada (Oct. 9) and rejected a season-high seven blocks against Saint Louis (Sept. 3)…recorded three service aces against five different teams—the last being against Penn State  (Dec. 17) in the NCAA semifinals in Tampa, Fla…. finished her career tied at No. 7 with Teee Williams with a .344 hitting  percentage…amassed 802 kills (2.00 k/set), 120 service aces and 314 total blocks (19 block solos, 314 block assists)…earned AVCA all-West Region honors and first team all-WAC honors…became just the third female multi-sport athlete and the fifth time that a Rainbow Wahine was named the WAC’s Joe Kearney Award female winner as the top student-athlete in the conference.

2008 (Junior): Started all 35 matches as a middle hitter...earned AVCA all-West Region honorable-mention honors...named first team all-WAC...led the team in hitting (.380), service aces (54) and total blocks (96)...averaged 2.10 kills and 0.83 blocks per set...earned all-tournament honors in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational...hit .409 with 12 kills and five blocks vs. Minnesota (Sept. 4)...broke the school single-match record with 11 aces vs. Washington (Sept. 13), also hitting .533 with 10 kills...hit .600 with 10 kills and five blocks vs. Idaho (Sept. 19)...posted nine kills while hitting .615 at Nevada (Oct. 18)...hit .556 with 11 kills vs. Fresno State (Oct. 26)...had 11 kills and five blocks at Idaho (Nov. 8)...had seven kills and five aces vs. Belmont in the NCAA first round (Dec. 5)...hit .714 with 10 kills at Southern California in the NCAA second round (Dec. 6)...posted 11 kills and five blocks vs. Purdue in the NCAA regional semifinal match (Dec. 12)...academic all-WAC.

2007 (Sophomore): Played in 33 matches, starting 24 as a right-side or middle hitter…averaged 1.77 kills and 0.84 blocks per game on the season…hit .450 with 12 kills and five blocks vs. Colorado State (Aug. 25)…had a season-high nine blocks vs. Wichita State (Sept. 7)…posted 10 kills and five blocks vs. Santa Clara (Sept. 8)…hit .632 with 13 kills at New Mexico State (Sept. 22)…had 10 kills in the WAC Tournament championship at New Mexico State (Nov. 17)…posted 10 kills and five digs in the NCAA second round match vs. Middle Tennessee State (Dec. 1)…academic all-WAC.

2006 (Freshman): Played in 26 matches, starting four as a right-side hitter…earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors…averaged 1.49 kills and 0.91 blocks per game…hit .444 with 10 kills and three blocks in just two games at Fresno State (Sept. 23)…hit .467 with eight kills at New Mexico State (Oct. 13)…hit .417 with eight kills and three blocks vs. Idaho (Oct. 27)…posted four kills and six blocks vs. New Mexico State (Nov. 12)…had six kills and five blocks vs. San Jose State in the WAC Tournament (Nov. 23)…had seven kills, six blocks and a .417 hitting percentage vs. New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament Championship match (Nov. 24)…academic all-WAC.

Track & Field (Jumps)
2010 (Track): National champion in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore…became the first UH athlete to win a national title in 26 years…cleared 6-1.25 (1.86m) and beat out Arizona’s Elizabeth Patterson for the title…captured the silver medal at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark…settled for runner-up finish after clearing 6-2.75 (1.90m)…recipient of the WAC’s Joe Kearney Award…defended her WAC Outdoor high jump title for the third straight year and WAC Indoor high jump title for the second straight year…season-best mark of 6-3.25 (1.91m) was the top collegiate mark in the country and ranked among the top in the U.S….tied for the top mark at the NCAA West Preliminary Round…was on the Watch List of The Bowerman as the nation’s top track and field athlete…broke the 27-year old Clarence T.C. Ching Field high jump record at the Rainbow Relays with a jump of 6-1.25 (1.86m)…named WAC Athlete of the Week three times…captured the high jump title at the North American, Central American, Caribbean (NACAC) Championships in Miramar, Fla…named to USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams.
2009 (Track): Placed third at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump and became the first UH athlete to medal at the event in 25 years...named USTFCCCA All-American during both indoor and outdoor seasons...smashed the school high jump record and posted the nation's second-best jump of 6-4 (1.93m) at the WAC Outdoor Championship, where she won gold and was named co-Field Athlete of the Meet...became the first UH athlete to win an NCAA Regional event with a jump of 6-1.5...placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships...captured the WAC Indoor Championship high jump gold medal...named to USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams.

2008 (Track): Earned All-America status after placing fifth in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championship...qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., where she placed 12th...cleared a new school record 6-0.5 at the WAC Outdoor Championship to capture the gold medal...mark tied for third best in the country...tied for sixth at the NCAA West Regional in Northridge, Calif...second UH athlete to clear four meters...did not compete during the indoor season.

2007 (Track): Finished fourth in the high jump at the WAC Indoor Championship.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Branham High School in San Jose, Calif…lettered three years in volleyball, one year in basketball and four years in track…named the No. 25 top senior on the prepvolleyball.com Senior Aces list…named the division co-MVP for volleyball…posted a 5-10.25 high jump that ranked as the sixth-best high school jump in the country…a member of the Best Buddies and Senior Women’s Club.
