Wendy Miyashiro

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Wendy Miyashiro begins her third season as an assistant coach for Rainbow Wahine soccer.

As a player, Miyashiro led the Rainbow Wahine to its two most successful seasons ever, as Hawai`i won 11 matches in 1998 and 12 in 1999.

Last season as assistant coach, she helped return the Rainbow Wahine to the WAC Tournament, where they fell in the finals after a magical run through the quarter- and semifinals.

“She is the most mature, accomplished student-athlete to have gone through our program,” head coach Pinsoom Tenzing said.  “Becoming an assistant is a natural step for her.”

During her senior season, she captained the Rainbow Wahine to its first-ever post-season appearance. That year, the Rainbow Wahine finished the regular season as the WAC runner-up to earned a spot in the conference championship tourney, where they fell in triple overtime, 2-1, to nationally-ranked SMU in Dallas, Texas.

For her efforts, Miyashiro earned second-team all-WAC honors and was also named to the WAC all-Tournament team.

A well-rounded student-athlete, Miyashiro also earned a spot on the WAC all-Academic Team her senior seasons.
