2012-13 (Senior): Appeared in 20 games with five starts at center averaging 12.8 minutes a game…shot 19-for-38 for a .500 overall field-goal percentage and led UH in conference action with a .667 field-goal percentage (8-for-12)…averaged 1.2 rebounds per game with a total of 23 boards with four blocks, four assists, and seven steals…scored a season-high seven points against UC Davis (Feb. 14) and secured a season-best six rebounds against UC Riverside (March 7)…came off the bench to help UH overcome a 13-point deficit at Cal Poly (Feb. 23) by shutting down their center in the paint, she hit a pair of free throws with 2:29 left in the game to give UH a one point lead, but it would not be enough as the Mustangs was able to hold off a charging UH for a 47-43 win…named a Big West Scholar-Athlete...earned the Ah Chew Goo Achievement Award which is the Rainbow Wahine’s highest individual honor given to the player who attained “basketball excellence through dedication, determination and perseverance”…also was voted the female co-winner with former teammate Kelly Majam (softball) of the Jack Bonham Award—UH’s highest student-athlete honor—given in recognition of outstanding performances on and off the playing field the UH’s top male and female senior student-athlete who best exemplifies the ideals for which Bonham stood for in the areas of athletic excellence, academic achievement, public service, leadership and character.”
Softball at UH: Graduated with a degree in psychology in the spring of 2012 after playing four years as a starting pitcher on the softball team...helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to a pair of WAC titles (2010 and 2012) and two NCAA tournament appearances--including the program's first ever appearance in the Women's College World Series in 2012...became just the 10th player in UH history to be voted a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American (second team in 2012) and the fourth UH player to earn Easton All-America honors twice (2011 and 2012) in her career...was the first Rainbow Wahine to become a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award finalist and First-Team All-America which recognizes seniors who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence--community, classroom, character and competition...is UH's winningest pitcher in school history (102) and also set new career records in shutouts (33), complete games (116), appearances (164), innings pitched (938.1), and strike outs (818)...as a senior, posted a 28-6 overall record with a career-best .824 win percentage with 30 complete games and 10 shutouts while holding opponents to a career-low .191 batting average...became the first UH player to be voted WAC Pitcher of the Year three times; was the WAC Freshman of the Year in 2009; and earned all-WAC honors all four years of her career...in the classroom was a four-time all-academic WAC player and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Prep: A 2008 graduate of Archbishop Mitty HS in San Jose, Calif...earned two varsity letters in softball and three in basketball...helped lead the Monarchs to the back-to-back division and conference championships in softball...earned division and conference first team honors as a senior and was named to the San Francisco Chronicle's all-metro second team...in basketball, the Monarchs are the three time division and conference defending champion as well as the 2007 and 08 state champions...played for the San Jose Sting club team which finished ninth at the 16U ASA Nationals and seventh in the 18U ASA Gold Nationals...an honor-roll student three years.
Personal: Born in San Jose, Calif...graduated in four years with a degree in psychology in the Spring of 2012 from UH and is currently in the master's nursing program...has one brother and two sisters...older brother Richard was a defensive end on the Air Force Academy's football team while older sister Samantha was an All-American first baseman and younger sister Keilani is an All-American pitcher and was the 2012 and '13 National Player of the Year for the Oklahoma Sooners...parents are Carol and Jeff Ricketts of San Jose, Calif.
