2002 (JUNIOR): Returned from an early-season shoulder injury to spark Hawai`i offense...selected to all-tournament team at NCAA Finals after putting-down a season-high 17 kills in Hawai`i's championship clinching upset of top-ranked Pepperdine...finished season second on the team in kill average (2.75 kpg) and dig average (1.77 dpg)...third on squad with 0.91 blocks per game...big-game performer also had 12 kills in Hawai`i's MPSF Tournament championship match at Pepperdine (Apr. 27).

2001 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 49 games, recording a .226 hitting percentage on 110 kills in 243 attempts...also had eight service aces and 41 digs...had 32 total blocks (two solos, 30 block assists)...had three double-digit kill performances...had season-high 19 kills against Long Beach State (Feb. 15)...had 15 kills against BYU (April 14)...put down 13 kills at UC San Diego (Feb. 13).

2000 (FRESHMAN): Played in 21 matches, started six at outside hitter...posted a career-high 12 kills at USC (March 4) and a career-high six blocks twice, once at USC (March 4) and against Pepperdine (March 11)...also recorded a career-high nine digs vs. UCLA (March 17).

PREP: A 1999 graduate of Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu...lettered twice in volleyball and paddling...named Interscholastic League of Honolulu Player of the Year in his senior season...earned first team all-ILH and all-state honors his junior and senior seasons...coached by former Warrior Pono Ma`a.

PERSONAL: Born May 3, 1981, in Honolulu… majoring in business...enjoys surfing and sleeping...favorites include  the movie “Braveheart,” musical group Hot Boyz and the book Where the Red Fern Grows...credits his parents for giving him all the opportunities to become successful...lists his brother Chad Ching as his favorite athlete...upon graduation would like to travel...has one brother...parents are Lynn and Billy Ching of Honolulu.
