Tony McInerny enters his third year on the Warrior volleyball coaching staff and for the second year will assume the role of lead statistician.
 
McInerny’s coaching experience includes seven years at Punahou School, where he coached the intermediate boy’s, junior varsity girl’s, and varsity girl’s teams from 1991-97. As the intermediate boy’s coach, McInerny was the youngest head coach in Punahou School history. He also later coached the Kaimuki High School boy’s varsity, University High School boy’s varsity, and La Pietra School, where he headed the girl’s volleyball program for six years.
 
In addition, McInerny is an active member of Outrigger Canoe Club, where he played on the men’s open team for 10 years and coached boys 14s, 16s, and 18s teams.
 
A 1987 Punahou School graduate, McInerny attended San Diego State, where he was the starting setter for two years. He is currently a realtor with Case Properties International and assists at McInerny Transportation, Inc.
 
McInerny’s family ties has a long and rich volleyball history in the islands. His sister, Diana, played for the UH women’s volleyball team and was a member of the 1979 AIAW national championship team. His nephews, Riley and Maddison McKibbin, currently play for USC.
