Randy Nako enters his first season as the Warrior volleyball volunteer coach.

Nako's strength is his ability to teach the basic fundamentals. He has trained and developed 11 All-Americans (boys and girls), three USA Volleyball Youth National Team members and one USA Volleyball Junior National Team member.

Nako has been coaching volleyball for 20 years and is currently the director of the Hawaiian Islands Volleyball Academy.

He led Word of Life Academy to a third-place finish in the 2007 ILH Division II state playoffs. He spent last two years coaching at WLA. Before that, he coached at Punahou School from 2003-2005.

He is a 1976 graduate of McKinley High School here on O`ahu. He played college volleyball at Brigham Young University-Hawai`i during the 1976-77 and 1980-81 seasons. He graduated from BYUH in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
