Biography

2011-12 (Senior): Team leader in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:46.17…swam two individual events at the MPSF Championships (Feb. 15-17)…took second in the 200 backstroke  and 16th in the 100 backstroke…was part of the team that finished fifth in the 800 freestyle relay (6:39.13)…also earned three new personal bests at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 17) in the 500 freestyle (4:28.92), 100 backstroke (50.08), and 200 backstroke (1:46.17).

2010-11 (Junior): Took first in the 200 backstroke seven out of the eight times he competed in the event…helped lead the Warriors to their first Conference USA Invitational championship title …won the 200 backstroke earning a personal best time of 1:45.91…a part of the team that won the 800 freestyle relay (6:34.27)…made another personal best time in the 100 back (50.03) after taking third…also took seventh in the 500 freestyle (4:32.35)…broke the pool record at UC San Diego (Jan. 29) after finishing first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:50.03…held the team’s top times in the 100 and 200 backstroke.

2009-10 (Sophomore): Earned two personal bests at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 24-27) taking fourth in both the 500 freestyle (4:29.38) and the 100 backstroke (49.92)…also finished second in the 200 back (1:45.55) and was a part of the teams that finished second in the 800 freestyle relay (6:33.00) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:17.77)…took first in the 200 back (1:49.83) and third in the 200 free (1:43.18) against Wisconsin (Jan. 9) and was also a part of the team that placed second in the 200 medley relay (1:33.94)…earned a personal best in the Toshiba Classic (Nov. 19-21) placing third in the 200 back (1:45.41)…also placed third in the 100 back (50.06) and was a member of the teams that placed second in the 800 free relay (6:37.31), the 200 medley relay (1:31.37) and in the 400 medley relay (3:21.12)…swam against Stanford (Oct. 10) and placed first in the 200 back (1:49.17) and second in the 200 IM (1:56.32)…took first in the 200 back (1:48.19) against California (Oct. 9). 

2008-09 (Freshman): Finished second in the 200 backstroke (1:47.87), fifth in the 100 backstroke (50.65) and eighth in the 200 IM (1:53.28) at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 25-28)…won the 200 backstroke on both days of the Big West Shootout (Nov. 7-8) with times of 1:48.49 on the first day and 1:49.16 on the second…also finished runner-up in the 400 IM (4:04.84), 100 back (51.77) and 200 IM (1:54.56) at the Big West Shootout.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of Gimnazisa Svetozar Markovic school in Novi Sad, Serbia…swam for Vosvodina swim club for 10 years…swam and ranked in the World Championship in 2006 and 2008…also swam in the Balcan Games, Europian Championiships, Serbian Nationals and Croatian Nationals…was the Serbian National Record Holder for 200 Back (1:58:52).
Personal: Born in Novi Sad, Serbia…major is undecided…has one brother and one sister…parents are Zivana and Slobodan Bogdanovski of Novi Sad, Serbia.
