Matt Chon joined head coach Timmy Chang’s inaugural staff in 2022 as Chief of Staff. He is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the football program.
Chon worked alongside Chang at the University of Nevada, where he served as a recruiting assistant during the 2021 season. Following the completion of the season, he was promoted to Director of Football Operations before joining Chang’s staff in January 2022.
Prior to Nevada, Chon worked with the football program at his alma mater, the University of La Verne in southern California. There, he assisted with the wide receivers and also worked in equipment operations.
Chon played collegiate football at both La Verne and American River College in Sacramento, Calif.
