Prior to UH: Played in 21 games over three seasons at the University of Nebraska, primarily as a kickoff specialist…in 2014, he handled kickoff duties in five games for NU, recording 15 touchbacks on 34 kickoffs, hitting a career-long 45-yard field goal…in 2013, he appeared in 12 games and recorded touchbacks on 48-of-77 kickoffs…redshirted in 2012 at NU…in 2011 as a rookie, he appeared in four games on kickoffs…named to the 2014 academic athletic honor roll.
 
Prep: A 2011 graduate of West Boca Raton High School, Boca Raton, Fla…earned four varsity letter, twice in both football and soccer…ranked among the nation’s top-10 placekickers by ESPN.com…as a senior, he converted 7-of-11 field goals, while 45-of-55 kickoffs went for touchbacks…also punting for WBRHS he averaged 43.2 yards per punt…as a junior, he connected on 13-of-19 field goals with a long of 51 yards…on kickoffs, he had 47 touchbacks and averaged 43 yards per punt… placed fourth in the kickoff competition at the 2010 Kohl’s Scholarship Camp.
 
Personal: Born in New Orleans, La…earned his Bachelor’s Degree in criminology and criminal justice at Nebraska, majoring in learning design and technology at UH…has two brothers, one older and one younger…parents are Bruno and Connie Mauro of Boca Raton, Florida.
