Mathew Troupe enters his second season as the pitching coach for the University of Hawai‘i baseball program after joining the staff on August 6, 2021.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
  • In first season with the Rainbow Warriors, he guided the pitching staff to its best performance in five different stat categories since joining the Big West Conference.
  • Coached the UH staff to a Big West-leading 3.29 ERA in conference play, while the 454 strikeouts on the year were the most by a Hawai‘i team since 2006.
  • Worked with All-Big West first-team selection Blaze Koali‘I Pontes, helping him finish fifth in the league in ERA and fourth in strikeouts.
  • Two Rainbow Warrior pitchers were selected in the 2022 MLB Draft following his first season, as Cade Halemanu was taken in the 10th round and Pontes went in the 16th round.
 
PRIOR TO UH
  • Coached Billy Dimlow at Emory to one of the best seasons in program history, being named to First Team All-America and Pitcher of the Year.
  • As part of the Orleans Firebirds coached the pitching staff to the best ERA in the league.
  • Six players from his staff were selected in the 2020 MLB Draft, with three more signing as free agents.
