GAME CAPTAINS
  • Wynden Ho‘ohuli, Ethan Spencer, Blaze Kamoku, Matagi Thompson

SERIES INFORMATION
  • UH improved to 12-1 in the series, including 8-0 in Honolulu.
  • The Warriors won by double-digits for the 11th time in its 12 wins over the Aggies.
  • This marked the fifth meeting between the teams since 2021. The Rainbow Warriors and Aggies will face off again in 2027 in Las Cruces.

UH VERSUS CONFERENCE USA
  • UH improved to 15-3 against teams currently in Conference USA, including 11-1 at home.

TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Hawai‘i is 9-1 in its last 10 nonconference home games dating back to 2023, including a current streak of six consecutive out of conference wins at Ching Complex.
  • Hawai‘i has won nine of its last 11 games at Ching Complex dating back to 2024, averaging 29.2 points per game during that span.

INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Elijah Palmer has played in a team high 27 straight games dating back to 2024 season.

TEAM NOTES
  • UH set season highs in points (29), total offense (420) and first downs (21) and had a season low four penalties.
  • The Warriors held NMSU to opponent season lows in points (19) and rush yards (124).
  • After not forcing a turnover in the first two games, UH forced three turnovers against the Aggies (2 interceptions, 1 fumble). 
  • The UH defense gained its first takeaway of the season when Wynden Ho‘ohuli forced a fumble that was recovered by Jamih Otis during New Mexico State’s first drive of the game.
  • UH also got interceptions from Jaylon Edmonds (3rd Q) and Jamih Otis (4th Q).
  • UH scored on its opening drive for the first time this year when DeVon Rice capped an 8-play, 64-yard drive with a 7-yard rushing touchdown.
  • UH surrendered its longest offensive touchdown of the season with a 33-yard score caught by NMSU’s TK King in the second quarter.
  • A UH opponent returned a fumble for a touchdown for the second time in the first three games of the year when De’Marcus Peters scored from 84 yards out.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Micah Alejado registered his first 300-yard passing game of the season and sixth of his career, finishing with 346 yards on 33-of-45 passing. 
  • Sophomore Tama Uiliata recorded career-highs in catches (10) and yards (107).
  • Uiliata also tossed a 7-yard touchdown pass to tight end Frank Abreu for the redshirt freshman’s first career touchdown reception. 
  • Uiliata is the first UH player since to have at least 100 yards receiving and a TD pass in the same game.
  • In his first career start, Washington transfer Audric Harris had 105 yards receiving on four catches.
  • RS freshman Kaikai Carvalho added nine catches for 82 yards in his first career start.
  • Beside Harris and Carvalho, three others made their first career starts on offense. Senior transfer Denaris DeRosa started at right guard, redshirt freshman Titan Lacaden started at running back and senior Koa Eldredge started at wide receiver.  
  • Lacaden had three catches for 20 yards and added a 69-yard kickoff return to start the second half. 
  • DeVon Rice became the first player to score multiple rushing touchdowns in a game since Brayden Schager scored four touchdowns in a win over Nevada on Oct. 26, 2024.
  • He is the first UH running back to rush for multiple TDs in a game since Dedrick Parson had three vs. Nevada on Oct. 15, 2022.
  • Rice has a team-leading four touchdowns on the season, including three on the ground.
  • Sean Olvera-Harle drilled three field goals on the evening, including a season-long 42-yarder late in the first half. The senior is now 5-of-6 on the year in field goal attempts.
  • For the second straight week Gehrig Heil recorded a punt of at least 60 yards with a 63-yarder in the fourth quarter. 
  • Jaylon Edmond recorded his first career interception for UH in the third quarter.
  • Jamih Otis recorded a game-sealing interception in the fourth quarter. It was his first interception of the season and second of his career. Otis had six tackles, while also adding a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.
  • Kona Moore also had six tackles to lead the team in tackles for the third straight game to start the year.
