2025 Football Game Day Promotions

Stanford (August 23rd)- Hawai‘i's Team (Wear White): Island Style, state pride, and fan appreciation rolled into one.
  • To create a big-time home atmosphere, all fans are encouraged to join the team in wearing white for the game. 
  • Tailgating lot opens at 9:30 am. Fans are invited to join the Warrior Walk, where the team will be dropped off on campus and walk through the tailgating and Pa‘ina area around 11 am. Our pregame concert with Hawaii's Finest will begin at noon with High Watah performing live.
  • There will be two new fan accommodations for the first game. A cooling station will be located around the Diamond Head Zone at the Beach Volleyball courts. Water orders are double compared to last season’s afternoon home game vs. UCLA, as water will be offered at all concession stands. Plus, UH will be trying out a rental sound system for the first game to enhance the fan experience overall.
  • Comedian and former Rainbow Warrior football player Tumua Tuinei will serve as the team’s official team captain. Prior to kickoff, Tuinei will deliver the game ball and stand with the team captains at midfield for the coin toss. 
  • Leading the home crowd in the singing of the national anthem and Hawai‘i Pono‘i will be Angela Morales.
  • Chad Owens will be welcomed back to campus as our legend of the game. Owens will be honored for recently being inducted into the UH Circle of Honor, the Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
  • For her amazing work in the community, UH will recognize Aunty Blanche McMillan. McMillan founded Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina (HMA), a homeless community program that provides village-style housing, essential facilities, and long-term support for those facing hard times in Hawai‘i.
  • Before the team runs out on the field, two teams from NFL Flag Hawai‘i will run out of the home team tunnel, and will play an exhibition for the home crowd at halftime.
  • 1,000 white ti leaf towels will be distributed to the student section as they enter the game.

Sam Houston (September 6th)- Country Western Night: A little country music never hurt anyone, and let's give some love to our blue-collar friends who want to have a good time. 
  • Fans are encouraged to join in the theme by wearing "Country Western" apparel. If you do, and a marketing representative sees you, you have the chance to earn Sodexo Cash. 
  • Legendary musician and former UH football player Henry Kapono returns to campus as he'll perform the national anthem and Hawai'i Pono'i. 
  • Tailgating lot opens at 2:00 p.m. Fans are invited to join the Warrior Walk, where the team will be dropped off on campus and walk through the tailgating and Pa'ina on the Path area around 3:30 p.m. Our pregame concert with Hawaii's Finest will begin at 4:40 p.m. with Natty Vibes performing live.
  • Brad Kalilimoku will serve as our "Legend of the Game", and will be honored during the first quarter of action. Kalilimoku played for the Rainbow Warriors from 2004 to 2007.
  • In honor of the game's theme, fans will be treated to two new on-field promotional activities, the "Barnyard Game" and the "Animal Race".
  • At halftime, fans will be treated to a keiki flag football exhibition.

Portland State (September 13th)- Homecoming: We look towards the future by showing Aloha to our past alumni. We're happy to have you back and plan to feature a popular set of alums from the mid-2000s.
  • The first 1,500 fans through Gate 2 will receive a rally towel courtesy of OUTRIGGER.
  • The first 800 students through Gate 7 will receive an official 2025 Homecoming shirt designed by Sweet Enemy. The shirt will also be available for sale at the bookstore and H Zone during the game. 
  • Tailgating lot opens at 2:00 p.m. Fans are invited to join the Warrior Walk, where the team will be dropped off on campus and walk through the tailgating and Pa'ina on the Path area around 3:30 p.m. Our pregame concert with Hawaii's Finest will begin at 3:00pm with Kani Ka Pila Grille Talent Search Competition finalist Moon Kahele performing live at 3:00 p.m., followed by Keala and Miah at 4:30 p.m.
  • Michael Bright will lead the fans in attendance with his performance of the national anthem and Hawai'i Pono'i and Sean Dee, OUTRIGGER’s Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer will do the coin toss.
  • At Halftime we’ll have a special presentation to recognize OUTRIGGER CEO, Jeff Wagoner, for his strong support of UH Athletics as a long-time Diamond sponsor.
  • Also at halftime, we'll honor five distinguished members of the UH Manoa faculty for their contributions as Manoa Award winners.
  • Board of Regents member Gabe Lee will also be recognized in the first quarter for for his "Giving Week" $1 million donation to athletics.
  • In the third quarter, UH will welcome designer and alum Drew Honda of Sweet Enemy as the designer of our official Homecoming shirts in 2024 & 2025. 

Fresno State (September 20th)- Hawai‘i Heroes: First Responders are always there in our time of need, and we give them a "Hero's" welcome to the Clarence TC Ching Athletics Complex.  
  • The first 500 fans through Gate 2 will receive a foam shaka courtesy of First Hawaiian Bank.
  • First responders planning to attend the game will receive 30% off tickets in the Ewa endzone and corner sideline at the ticket window by showing their department ID.
  • Tailgating lot opens at 2:00 p.m. Fans are invited to join the Warrior Walk, where the team will be dropped off on campus and walk through the tailgating and Pā'ina on the Path area around 3:15 p.m. Our pregame concert with Hawaii's Finest will begin at 4:30 with Peni Dean performing live.
  • Micah Ganiron will lead the crowd with his rendition of the national anthem and Hawai'i Pono'ī, while Mitchell Ka'aiali'i of First Hawaiian Bank will perform the coin toss.
  • During the first quarter, former athletics director Hugh Yoshida will be recognized for his efforts and contributions at UH and in the state of Hawai'i. 
  • Throughout the game, first responders will be honored for their dedication and sacrifice in protecting Hawai'i's communities. 

Utah State (October 11th)- Ultimate Keiki Night: An unforgettable night for our young fan base to ensure they're Rainbow Warrior fans for life. We plan to focus on the flag football community.
 

San Diego State (November 8th)- Military Night: Salute every branch of the military and their work to keep us safe.
 

Wyoming (November 29th)- Senior Night:  A special night for the 2025 senior class, filled with memories, tears, and laughs.
