Letterwinners Club - Legacy Initiative - "Showcasing Our Heritage"

Letterwinners Club - Legacy Initiative -

What is the Letterwinners Club Legacy Initiative?
  • A multi-phased approach creating gathering places to celebrate, honor, and share the University of Hawai’i’s rich athletic history and inspire future generations.  The school’s athletic heritage is a source of pride for its fanbase, former/current players, and will be the entry point for prospective recruits to entering the Rainbow Warrior/Wahine athletic ecosystem.

What are the initiative’s phases?
  • Phase 1 [completed May 2026]:  Update and revitalize public facing display showcases within the Bankoh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center and Les Murakami Stadium, to share memorabilia, mementos, and awards of the basketball, volleyball, and baseball programs.
  • Phase 2 [completed May 2026]:  Develop the Ewa concourse of the Bankoh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center into a “Legacy Path”, creating new display cases into an area where fans can visualize memorabilia depicting the rich history of the basketball and volleyball programs.
  • Phase 3:  Develop a "Legacy Wall" display where team photos and profiles of each University of Hawai'i Letterwinner can be displayed and accessed by the fanbase. [still under development]
  • Long-Term Vision:  To develop a facility ("Heritage Hall") within the University of Hawai'i's athletics complex that will share the legacy and heritage of all sports programs.
