SERIES INFORMATION

• UNLV regained possession of the Island Showdown Trophy.
• UH still leads the overall series 19-14.
• The home team has won 13 of the last 15 match-ups in the series.
• UNLV leads the series in games played in Las Vegas, 11-6, having won seven of the last eight and 9 of the last 11.
• The teams have played 17 times in conference play with UH holding a 9-8 advantage (3-2 in WAC and 6-6 in Mountain West).

 
UH IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST

• Hawai‘i is now 28-61 (.315) all-time in the Mountain West — including 12-32 on the road.

 
TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS 

• UH has lost its last nine road games dating back to last season, including five straight Mountain West road contests. The last road win came at Wyoming (38-14) in the 2021 regular-season finale.
• UH dropped its Mountain West opener for the third straight season.
• UH has lost the turnover battle in four of six games this season and had equal turnovers in the other two.

 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 

• DT John Tuitupou made his 19^th consecutive start and QB Brayden Schager made his 15^th consecutive start.
• Schager has thrown for at least one touchdown pass in 15 consecutive games dating back to last year. The last time Schager did not throw a touchdown pass was Sept. 17, 2022 versus Duquesne.
• Matthew Shipley nailed field goals of 33- and 34-yards in the second and third quarters, respectively. He has now made 30 of his last 32 field goal attempts from inside 40 yards dating back to the 2021 season.
• Since the start of the 2021 season, Shipley has made 41-of-49 (83.7%) field goal attempts and 78-of-79 PAT attempts.

  
TEAM NOTES

• UNLV rushed for 307 yards on 47 carries, the most by a UH opponent this year. The previous high for yards was 227 in UH’s last road game at Oregon.
• The 27 first downs by the Rebels were also an opponent season high.
• UH surrendered six sacks, tied for the most in a game this season (also vs. Stanford)
• UH registered six pass breakups, tied for a season high. Caleb Brown led the way with three of them.
• UH has been out-scored 130-50 in the first half, including 66-17 in the first quarter.
• UH went just 1-of-11 on third down conversions. For the season, UH is 27-of-84 (32%).
• Jose Pizano hit a 52-yard field goal in the second quarter, tied for the sixth-longest ever by a UH opponent and the longest since Lucas Havrisik’s (Arizona) 53-yarded in the 2019 season opener Arizona.
• After not having a lost fumble through the first four games of the season, UH has lost one in each of the last two, both by QB Brayden Schager.

 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• Steven McBride finished with a team-high six catches for a career-high 180 yards and a touchdown. It was McBride’s first career 100-yard receiving game.
• The 180 receiving yards were the most by a Warrior since JoJo Ward had 189 yards in a win over Oregon State on Sept. 7, 2019.
• McBride scored his team-leading sixth touchdown of the season on a 51-yard catch in the third quarter. He has scored in four of the team’s six contests.
• McBride hauled in a 55-yard catch on UH’s next possession for UH’s longest play from scrimmage this year.
• McBride finished with 205 all-purpose yards, adding a season-long 25-yard punt return in the third quarter.
• Brayden Schager posted his third 300-yard game this season and fourth of his career, and finished with 313 yards on 22-of-35 passing and two touchdowns.  
• Alex Perry scored a touchdown on the road for the second straight time with a 38-yard reception in the fourth quarter. The redshirt freshman scored UH’s lone touchdown in UH’s last road game at No. 13 Oregon.
• With two field goals and two extra points, Matthew Shipley moved into fourth all-time on the UH scoring list (256), surpassing Davone Bess (250).
• Isaiah Tufaga finished the game with a career-high 10 tackles, all of them assisted.
• Jalen Smith also had 10 tackles in making his first career start.
• Devyn King made his first career start at cornerback and finished with two tackles.
• Solo Vaipulu made his team-high 44th career start and first at running back. He did not finish with any stats.
