SERIES INFORMATION
  • San Diego State won for the second straight year and the eighth time in the last 10 meetings.
  • The Aztecs now lead the series 23-11-2 overall and 12-7-2 in Honolulu.
  • Three of the last four meetings have been decided by seven points or less.

TEAM STREAKS/TRENDS  
  • UH lost its third straight conference game.
 
INDIVIDUAL STREAKS/TRENDS 
  • Calvin Turner Jr. has scored in eight of 10 games this season after his 19-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. Turner has a team-leading 11 touchdowns this season.
  • Matthew Shipley has made 11 straight field goals after nailing a 22-yarder in the fourth quarter. Shipley is 12-of-13 on field goals this season.
  • Jared Smart has started a team-high 34 straight games for the Warriors dating back to 2019.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • Saturday’s game marked UH’s first home game without crowd restrictions. UH issued 6,239 tickets. Two weeks ago, a maximum of 1,000 spectators were allowed inside 9,000-seat Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.
  • UH donned special battleship gray uniforms for Military Appreciation Night in advance of Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11 and the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7
  • UH is 3-2 at home this season. Its other loss was a 17-13 defeat to San Jose State. SDSU is 4-0 on the road, including three straight one-score Mountain West wins.
  • UH held San Diego State to just 227 yards, a season-low for an opponent.
  • UH was held to a season low 260 yards of offense, a season low. The 10 points also tied a season low (also at UCLA).
  • UH has forced at least one turnover in eight of 10 games this season.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Khoury Bethley recorded a team-high 10 tackles. It was the second time this season and fifth time in his career that he recorded double-digit tackles in a game.
  • Isaiah Tufaga recorded his first sack of the season and his first since the 2020 opener with his second-half takedown of Lucas Johnson.
  • Zion Bowens had a career high three receptions (32 yards). Entering the game he had just two catches all season.
  • Jonah Panoke (WR) and Blessman Ta‘ala (DL) each made their first starts of the season, while junior tight end Steven Fiso made his first career start.
