Coin Toss: UH wins the coin toss and elects to receive.
 
SERIES INFORMATION: Hawai‘i and UNLV met for the 25th time and 13 time in Las Vegas—with the loss, UNLV trims the UH series lead to 15-10 and 7-6 in Las Vegas.
  • The home team has won nine (9) of the last 10 meetings in the series.
  • UNLV prevents UH from winning two straight—the last time was in 2006-07 when UH won consecutive games.
— With the loss, the Hawai‘i program record drops to 536-434-25 (.551), and 90-157-3 (.362) on the road.
—Hawai‘i overall Mountain West record falls to 4-26 (.129), 4-25 under head coach Norm Chow, and 0-1 under interim coach Chris Naeole.
—Naeole marks the fifth consecutive coach at UH to lose his first game coached. The last to win his first game was Bob Wagner in 1987.
—UH holds a 2-8 record after 10 games for the second consecutive season and third time in the last 20 years.
—The Hawai‘i road losing streak extends to seven (7) games and the overall losing streak is at seven (7) games.
  • UH has fallen in 24 of the last 25 road outings.
—UH falls to 0-6 when trailing after the first, second, and third quarters.
 
Team Notes:
  • Xzaviar Campbell’s 3-yard rushing touchdown on UNLV’s opening drive is the fourth time an opponent has scored a touchdown on their opening drive this season.
  • Paul Harris’ 72-yard rush in the third quarter (14:54, UH21, 2-10) marked his second-longest of the season, and the longest by an individual on the team since his own 20-yd rush at New Mexico (Oct. 17). The last time a Warrior other than him carried for that many yards was in 2012 (Bryant Moniz, 74-yds).
    • Harris carried for a career-high 190 rushing yards, and remains the only back to have reached 100 + yards this season. It was Harris’ third 100+ yard rushing game this season, and first since posting 114 yards at New Mexico (Oct. 17).
  • UNLV pulled off two (2) TD passes over UH, both Aaron Criswell’s 85-yd TD pass from Blake Decker (4-96-1:50) in the second, and Devonte Boyd’s 75-yd TD pass from Decker (1-75-0:12) in the third—the two-longest passing plays against UH this season.
    • Aaron Criswell’s 85-yd pass touchdown from Blake Decker is the longest touchdown pass against UH of the season (4-96, 1:50, UNLV14-UH7), and the longest since Aug. 30, 2014 at Washington (Ross 90-yd pass from Lindquist, 1-91, 0:12, UW14-UH10)
  • Makoa Camanse-Stevens had two-straight catches in the fourth quarter, a career-high, combining for a career-best 70 yards.
  • It was Melvin Davis’ second 2-TD game of the season, his last on Sep. 19 against UC Davis.
  • Both Whitley (124-yds) and Thomas (120-yds) had 100+ yard rushing game against UH
    • It is the second consecutive week that UH has allowed two (2) 100+ yard rushers.
