Opening statement
We are just incredibly thrilled to be here at the University of Washington Competing. It’s been a tremendous year. I am very proud of our ball club and we are excited to get back on the field tomorrow and compete.
It seemed to be a pitchers game today. Can you talk about the two pitchers?
Both of them did a tremendous job. Parnaby battled very well and got deep in some counts with our hitters and stayed really tough, and got some good pitches. Obviously Sara did a tremendous. Same thing, battled really well and got deep in some deep counts with a potent Hawaii offense. They swing the bat really well, and I’m proud of the way she came out and competed out there. I think especially the first round of any NCAA tournament usually its pitching and defense dominating. Sometime it takes the bats a little time to wake up but obviously both pitchers did a tremendous job.
Did you expect a low scoring game?
Yeah, I wish we would have made her (Parnaby) work a little bit more. I think we learned from it, but she has done a great job. There is a reason she is putting up the numbers she is putting up across the country. This regional has great pitching in it. Look at all four starting pitchers; they are all All-Region pitchers. Against pitcher like that you have to manufacture runs and make the defense make plays.
How does Parnaby compare to other pitchers you’ve faced?
She does a great job. The big ten was very tough this year and we saw great pitching in the conference. What I’m really impressed with is that she got deep into counts and still went at our hitters. I think that is something we talk about Sara doing very well all the time is going at their hitter, and I think she did a nice job. I think we are going to watch the film tonight; hopefully we will see her tomorrow and make some adjustments

How do you feel that you performed, and did you see any adjustments that they made in the fifth inning?
Yeah they were aggressive swingers the whole game. They swung the bat pretty hard. I just tried to keep my ball down and they just got the timely hits. We are just going to come back tomorrow and hopefully we will see them again.
