UNLV Post Game Quotes

Post-Game Quotes
Hawai‘i vs. UNLV
Nov. 24, 2012
Aloha Stadium

UH Head Coach Norm Chow

On defensive performance…
I thought for the last three weeks we’ve been playing well. They play well against a passing type team.

On taking momentum into season finale…
Our guys were awfully proud to wear those uniforms. They took it very seriously. Hopefully we can get our guys to understand it takes that kind of effort to be successful.

On winning all phases of the game…
That’s what a team is all about. All three phases need to be good. Our defense played well, the offense put some points up and our (special) team’s team played well.

UNLV Head Coach Bobby Hauck

Opening Statement:
Pretty disappointed to come over here and get drilled like that. Good job by them (Hawaii). They played well and obviously controlled the game. Their defensive front mauled our offensive front pretty good. We did not win on their corners, on third down especially. Conversely, we didn’t win against their wide receivers and that was the difference in the game.

On defeat…
Any time we see progress and can’t sustain it; it’s a hard thing to swallow.

On team’s effort…
We’ve played 13 straight weeks and this was the only one which wasn’t a hard fought battle to the last play. We looked like we didn’t have anything left in the tank tonight. I don’t think the efforts the problem. The big mistakes … not winning in third down on either side of the ball and not handling their big guys up front. It wasn’t an effort level problem it was them (Hawaii) winning those battles.
