UH saw a string of nine straight regular season home wins come to a close. UH’s last such loss was versus USC in the 2010 season opener.
UH also had won seven WAC regular season home games dating back to 2009. UH’s last WAC home loss was vs. Boise State in 2009.
UH lost to Utah State for just the second time in seven all-time WAC meetings and the first time at Aloha Stadium.
UH lost for just the third time in its last 19 November games (16-3) since 2006. Its only other losses were at Utah State in 2008 and at Boise State in 2010.
With a 6-yard pass to Billy Ray Stutzmann in the second quarter, Bryant Moniz reached 10,000 career passing yards. Moniz became just the third quarterback in school history to reach the milestone, joining Timmy Chang and Colt Brennan.
Moniz scored two rushing touchdowns, giving him a team-high eight for the year. His eights scores are the most rushing touchdowns by a UH quarterback since Colt Brennans’s in 2007.
Aaron Brown recorded an interception for the second straight game with his first-quarter pick of Chuckie Keeton
For the second straight week, the UH defense recorded just one sack, after being among the national leaders in the category through the first seven games. Sophomore linebacker Art Laurel recorded the sack, giving him a team-high seven for the year.
