2011-12 (Senior): Earned a new personal best in the 200 backstroke (2:01.12) in a dual-meet against Stanford (Oct. 14)…also set a new personal best in the 200 butterfly (1:55.73) at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 17)…swam two events at the MPSF Championships (Feb. 15-17)…earned season-bests in the 1650 freestyle (15:58.94) and 400 IM (4:04.76).
2010-11 (Junior): Swam three events at the Conference USA Invitational championships…finished 6th in the 1650 freestyle (16:00.93), 9th in the 400 IM (4:05.46), and 12th in the 500 freestyle (4:36.74)…earned three personal bests at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 18-20) in the 1650 freestyle (15:49.95), 1000 freestyle (9:35.27), and 500 freestyle (4:34.21)…opened the season with a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (9:38.83) in a dual-meet against Seattle (Oct. 15).
2009-10 (Sophomore): Earned two personal bests at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 24-27) taking fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:04.21) and sixth in the 1650 freestyle (16:00.13)…took first against Wisconsin (Jan. 9) in the 1650 free (16:28.74) and fifth in the 500 free (4:49.52)…swam against California (Oct. 9) and took fourth in the 1000 free (9:46.90).
2008-09 (Freshman): Finished sixth in the 1650 free (16:00.47) and seventh in the 400 IM (4:04.24) at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 25-28)…placed third in the 400 IM (4:09.62), 1650 free (16:21.31) and 500 free (4:41.25) swims at the Big West Shootout (Nov. 7-8).
Prep: A 2008 graduate of Silverthorn Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario, Canada….swam at 2008 Canadian Olympic Trials…won team’s award for sportsmanship and leadership during the 2006-07 season…2007 Canadian Age Group National open water champion…honor roll student for all four years of high school.
Personal: Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada…plans to major in kinesiology…has one older sister…parents are Stephen and Dawn Coombs of Toronto, Canada.
