2005-06 (Freshman): Posted a 4-14 overall singles record, including 3-10 in dual matches at the No. 3 court...missed the team's final eight matches due to a shoulder injury...was 3-0 in three-set matches...posted consecutive three-set wins over Cal State Fullerton and Nevada...partnered with high school teammate Julia Sandborn for a 2-14 doubles mark, including 2-11 in dual matches...duo went 1-5 at No. 1 and 2-6 at No. 2.

Prep: A 2005 graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu...earned four letters in tennis...received ILH and all-state honors...she and partner Julia Sandborn captured the 2004 ILH double championship as a junior...during senior year was a doubles semifinalist in the ILH Championships...as a sophomore finished runners-up in the state doubles tournament.

Personal: Born in Kailua, Oahu...intends to major in fashion design and merchandise...has one brother and one sister...mother Carolyn was the UH women's head coach from 1999-2005...parents are Carolyn and Stephen Katayama of Kailua, Oahu.
